Dharma acid dyes 5 g
The colors marked with * are complex colours.
All Dharma colors are brilliant, clear and permanent. They do not fade, even after repeated washings as long as they are washed in cold water. They are economical, safe and easy to use.
Dharma acid dyes consist of both common (basic) dyes that are easy to use, as well as more complex (advanced) dyes that are more difficult to obtain and are not usually available to the home dyer. These have "multiple layers" and need more time to adhere.
One uses the Dharma colors in a wide variety of creative techniques, including semi-solid dyeing, microwaving, baking, printing, spraying, painting, steaming, etc. You will experience many different results, color shifts, separation of colors with mixtures, etc. depending on the techniques you use.
The yarn must be soaked before the dyeing process can start. Acid colors indicate that acid must be added for the color to stick. This means either 1 tablespoon of ordinary white vinegar per 100 g of fiber, or 1 teaspoon of citric acid per 100 g of fiber. When in the process this is done, has an impact on the final result. The temperature must be raised and lowered gradually. Remember to wear gloves and a protective mask when handling color powder.
5 g of color powder is enough for 1-1.5 kg of yarn, depending on the mixing ratio. A solution of 0.5% dye by total yarn weight usually works well for semi-solid dyeing (dry yarn weight). Alternatively, you can use 1 ml of color powder per 100 g yarn. Instructions for hand dyeing yarn in English are included when you buy acid dyes.
When purchasing 4 colors or more, the price is reduced to NOK 69 per color (applies to both Dharma and Jacquard colours).
