Hubba Bubba

Our yarns are of the highest quality and a joy to knit, according to our customers. We primarily use wool yarn made of extrafine merino wool, which is among the finest wools available to the "average" knitter. The yarn is spun with extra long fibers to create a strand that is strong with a silky feel.

Our mohair falls into the super kid mohair category, derived from the first shearing and consisting of the softest and finest fibers available from the mohair goat. Mohair’s ability to retain warmth is approximately double that of wool.

We dye with acid dyes, which are gentle on the environment and yield vibrant, long-lasting colors.

"Hubba Bubba" is a colorway with speckles that burst in neon colors.

Advice when knitting with hand-dyed yarn

Hand-dyed yarn, as the name suggests, is a craft, and there will be differences between skeins. This means that there are a few things that might be good to know before you get started.

There is different ways of using skeins, however when knitting garments, we recommend, as good practice, alternating skeins, it’s not usually essential but it does help to spread colours evenly. The Helix method is our favourite technique when knitting in the round. The more colorvariety in the yarn, the more important. This is explained nicely when knitting in the round in this video, and when you knit back and forth in this video.

If you don't want to knit every other round from different skeins (this is done at your own risk 😉), it is recommended to do this a few rounds when changing yarn. This applies regardless of the color of the yarn.

We want you to get the best possible result on the knitwear you spend a lot of time and resources on. 🥰

Wash and care of garments knitted in hand-dyed yarn

We recommend hand washing followed by a quick spin, or wool wash program if you trust your washing machine. Use ONLY detergent intended for wool/silk (Milo or such). Feel free to add a little clear vinegar - this helps preserve the colors. Do not soak the garment.

Please note that the yarn may contain excess colour. Therefore, wash separately the first time.

All knitted garments should be stored flat.
